Warum diese Seite?

Mit Inkscape erzeugte SVGs beinhalten keine DOCTYPE-Angabe und können daher nicht validiert werden. (Hier lesen, warum der DOCTYPE in SVGs für die Wikipedia derzeit dennoch nicht verwendet werden sollte!) Außerdem sind Höhe und Breite über die entsprechenden Attribute fest angegeben. Besser ist eine Angabe per viewBox-Attribut, sodass sich das Bild dem Browserfenster anpasst.

Dieses kleine Tool wurde gezielt für die Wikipedia geschaffen, um diese beiden Punkte ohne manuelle Arbeit auszubessern.

Optional besteht die Möglichkeit, das Bild ganzflächig mit einer Hintergrundfarbe füllen zu lassen. Andernfalls das entsprechende Feld einfach leer lassen, um den transparenten Hintergrund zu bewahren.

Why this page?

SVG files created with Inkscape do not contain a DOCTYPE element and can therefore not be validated. (Read here (german), why you should however not use the DOCTYPE in SVGs for Wikipedia at the moment) Furthermore, width and height are set to fixed values by the corresponding attributes. A setting via viewBoy attribue is better, so that the image fits to the browser window.

This tiny tool has been created especially for Wikipedia, to mend these two points without any manual work.

Another optional possibility is to have the whole image filled with a solid background color. Leave the corresponding field empty to preserve transparent background.
